Samsung Trend & Design Guide 2010

Ulf Öjerbrand, art director at Cab Stockholm, contacted us with a handful of sketches and a headful of ideas. Parts of the final images were photographed in our studios, while some of the elements and locations had to be built in 3D. The foto models were also photographed in our studios and were casted from Mikas.

Roofless and loving it

Award winners Rickard Villard and Patrick Westerdahl of Lowe Brindfors are a couple of real creatives. Their SAAB campaigns are renowned worldwide and we were highly motivated for this brilliant idea. In this campaign for their all-year-round convertible, the SAAB dream is still alive!

Lets go retro

With a strong desire to go analogue, Forsman & Bodenfors teamed up with Jesper Kouthhoofd to make (yes, to actually make) a pop-up book to show the diversity of Ikea kitchens. The process of actually making a pop-up book is usually quite time consuming and in this case there was none. The deadline for the book was in just 4 weeks time. Kouthhoofd got in touch with Sandberg & Timonen who were to be responsible for the book’s design, and they in turn hired us for the photography of all the people and props seen in the scenes. Extensive retouch work was also required – out of one kitchen we had to create three. With such a tight schedule everyone had to be on the set and the retouching was carried out more or less simultaneously to enable fast feedback. After the finishing touches were made the pictures were printed, cut out and mounted. This successful retro project resulted in extensive TV coverage.

Coureurs de fond

Our french might not be fluent, but we do know that a bowler’s hat and running shoes are an odd mix. Luckily, Aestroem’s art director Jan Ragnartz was there to explain. When it comes to ‘coureurs de fond’ (managing your assets for the long run) it seems CPR does just that, but apparently, ‘coureurs de fond’ also means long distance runner. C’est la vie!

Easy Cleaning

Barbara Wozna from Electrolux wanted to create the perfect environment for the modern, active woman. With help from stylist Catrin Spegel we searched and then found a great location on Lidingö (a very nice part of Stockholm to say the least). We then spent the week doing that wonderful household chore… you got it… cleaning. Being surrounded by vacuums you would think this would be easy but do not be fooled – the vacuums were just prototypes and were for show only. Back in the studio the images were retouched with the correct logos, leads and colours and the final ‘clean’ look was achieved.

Friends in Switzerland

Cosswiss, with Niclas Massalsky in the frontline, are our good friends from Zürich. They asked us for some help with some images for the launch of their new website. For this project we had the opportunity to use our photo equipment not just behind the lens but also in front of it. For us, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. See more at www.cosswiss.com

January Of Love

Intervet, manufacturers of animal pharmaceuticals, needed to update its image bank with a specific look. Aestroem gave us the brief – a documentary feel with a clear focus regarding the notion of friendship between humans and pets. It was essential to capture how we are affected by our friends and how they feel. Locations and models were required in both Stockholm and San Fransisco so casting became one of our first priorities. After a week of shooting in a freezing Stockholm we were ready for a week in San Francisco – it was the hottest January on the West Coast since 1968. Things soon became pretty hectic, at home and in California. 2-3 models every day and a time difference of 6 hours pushed production schedules to the limit. The results though were well worth it. Art director Jan Ragnartz of Aestroem, with his extensive experience and reliable eyes, teamed up perfectly with photographer Hans Carlén. The result – one hundred striking shots and some pretty good stories to tell as well.

The big cat of Sweden

Tiger of Sweden is one of our real heavyweight clients, and is also one of Sweden’s biggest retail brands. We provide images for lookbooks, sales and press, as well as supplying a steady flow of images for the web shop. Casting and production has also played a major role. Having been involved in these projects from idea to final result, we have developed together a new look and a new way of doing things.

Moving still lifes

These animated still lifes formed an exhibition in the display window of Acne’s shop in Berlin. Multitalented art director, illustrator and graphic designer Daniel Carlsten always puts his heart and soul into his work. Check out the still lifes as well:

Fascinating fruits

This extensive production involved the whole Bsmart team and even some locals from Cape Town. Starting as a home grown project it was shot on location in South Africa as well as at our studios in Stockholm. Tutti Frutti is an in-depth journey into the fascinating world of fruits and has been published in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Holland. Do check it out for some inspiration as well as some juicy temptations.
