Stockholm – The worlds healthiest city

Volt – Friskis&Svettis

Ad Jörgen Berglund and designer Åsa Stjärnquist from Volt came to us with this project for their brand new client, the Swedish sports association Friskis&Svettis (Healthy&Sweaty). Due to the Christmas deadline this became a pretty perspiring project as many elements needed to be retouched together to create the illusion of hand written text on steamed up windows. You too can get sweaty by heading off to your local gym for yoga, dance or weights!

Cleopatra sings opera

Folkoperan – Lowe Brindfors

AD Lina Brunzell from Lowe Brindfors contacted us for this pretty unusual model shoot for the promotion of the 2012 opera premiere ‘Cleopatra meets Julius Caesar’. Cleopatra is portrayed as a ‘rather loose woman’ in the eyes of Caesar, although in a very positive way according to the AD. The idea was born for a classical singing ‘blow up doll’ in a Cleopatra wig. During the photography we found it impossible to keep the doll in one place at one time and finally we had to tape her to a tripod. We do wish her all the best though in her future modelling career.

Pop Explosion

Eric Saade – Photographer Linus Hallsénius

When we were asked to create some 3D effects for Swedish pop singer Eric Saade’s new album cover we were looking forward to creating something explosive. The final effects turned out to be pretty mind blowing. Literally.

Horse racing on Wednesdays with V86

ATG V86 – Åkestam Holst

ATG was launching their new horse racing betting game V86 and we were asked by Jesper Holst and Tobias Tolvanen at Åkestam Holst to help visualise this using CGI. There were three different environments where we would need to add different neon elements and advertisement signs. We even had to rebuild the whole entrance to the Solvalla arena. All the CGI elements needed to interact with the reflections and lights within the original photographs. This project involved an intensive combination of 3D and retouch work. The final images received high exposure on TV, in print, and on the web to promote the launch.

Horses for courses

ATG V75 – Åkestam Holst

This image was created for ATG (the Swedish Horse Racing Totalisator Board) the only Swedish betting company with a license for horse race betting. V75 is one of the biggest horse racing bets in the world with a turnover of €8,75 million every Saturday. Tobias Tolvanen, Art Director at Åkestam Holst needed a golden logotype lying on a blue fabric for V75. We shot lots of different photographs of the fabric and our CGI team created the logo. We first thought that the CGI element would be the most time consuming, but instead the real challenge ended up being the retouch of the fabric that needed to be as smooth as silk. The final image and campaign appeared on TV, in print and in ATG stores throughout Sweden.

New images to relaunch successful ad campaign

Spring has arrived and its time for all the singles out there to find their soulmate. Just as most things in life, two is better than one and that was the driving force behind this highly visual campaign by Fredrik Josefsson, AD at Åkestam Holst. The theme for the campaign was ‘A cup of coffee is seldom alone’ and together with Fredrik we created these twisty, twirly images using a whole mixture of our talents including photo, 3D and retouch. It gave us a lot of enjoyment making these lively and playful images and we hope you like them too – or should we say two.

Com Hem – King

Groundbreaking technology for the fashion minded

The renowned ad agency King was looking to design a clothing collection for a new campaign for Com Hem (a company usually associated with broadband). Early on in the process we agreed with King to carry out a 3D/photo production as this would be extremely effective and controllable, and would lead to a perfect result in terms of both esthetics and costs. For this exciting project Com Hem teamed up with fashion designer Sahara Widoff to create this years perhaps most futuristic collection made entirely from Com Hem’s flexible cables and accessories.

The project kicked off by testing a few of our ideas in 3D and these lead to some groundbreaking working methods. Sahara Widoff let her creativity flow and she sketched the initial drawings for ‘Judit & Judit’s’ new clothing collection. What then followed was an extremely demanding but at the same time a greatly challenging time for us to bring this clothing collection to life.

We began by creating 3D models of all the materials that were to be used on the clothing items such as remotes, diverse plugs and flexible cables. We then created 3D dummies of Judit & Judit according to their body measurements and these were then posed according to the initial sketches. The 3D dummies were then used as mannequins for which all of the clothing could be designed around.

On the photography side, our photo studios had been strategically booked for two separate Com Hem campaigns on the same day. Two of our photographers worked simultaneously, together with AD Lotta Ågerup and the rest of the Com Hem team from King. After an effective days work everyone made it home in good time for dinner.

Once we had all the photographic images we were then able to match them up with the 3D elements. The clothes and models were retouched further and finely adjusted according to the clients wishes.

The final images for this popular campaign were widely published as large format posters, on the underground, in magazines and newspapers, on fashion blogs and throughout the web.

Carlsberg Sweden/Festis – No Picnic

I am a Festis!

Believe it or not but Festis was originally launched under the brand name FEST-iS in 1961 and was Sweden’s first still orange drink. A lot of changes have been made since then and behind the latest modern and youthful design is AD Isabelle Dahlborg Lidström from No Picnic. For this project we modelled and created all of the images for this spring seasons many exiting tastes.

Ad image of the year?

Catch-22 (a no win situation)

We are quietly happy with our achievement in this years swedish competition Årets reklambild (the swedish ‘Ad image of the year’). With Press Stop’s image campaign ‘If you love music’ and ‘20 years of cars’ Bsmart together with Sweet Creatives shared 2nd and 4th place. We were naturally proud to have our president Tomas Lestrup in the jury but with him not being able to vote for the Press Stop image this was perhaps a bit of a catch-22 occasion…

We do however congratulate the winning photographer Peter Alendahl. We are looking forward to the challenge again next year. See more here http://www.resume.se/nyheter/2010/12/15/har-ar-arets-reklambild/

Press Stop – Sweet Creatives

20th Anniversary

Isn’t it amazing how many shapes you can get from a simple magazine? Sweet Creative’s team Daniel Rösth, Fredrik Harkén and Rikard Linder rode the wave of their previously successful campaign for Press Stop (see here) when they came up with the idea for these new images for Press Stop’s 20th anniversary.

For the main anniversary image, a magazine cover from 1990 was needed, so we had to dig pretty deep in Stockholm’s analogue library to find what we were looking for. Back in the day, Acrobat 1.0 was first released in 1993 so there are not too many pdfs lying around from this era.

Falcon – Åkestam Holst

Product visualization for Falcon beer

The Swedish brewery Falcon has been around since 1896 and the latest packaging design for Falcon beer was conceived by Lars Baecklund and Olov Öqvist from Åkestam Holst. We began this project by initially creating visualisations for a few products but we ended up visualising the entire range of Falcon beer. 31 products in total, including boxes, 6-packs, 4-packs, bottles and cans.

Delicious desserts

Gustaf Boman, our friend at Tackolov, walked through our doors with two bags of strawberries for this photo shoot. Yummy! Art directors planning delicious desserts are always welcome at Bsmart as the final results are often consumed on site. These desserts turned out to be extra long ice cream boats. Not a bad day at all.

Ramlösa – Åkestam Holst

Strawberries in winter

It was late winter and Jesper Holst and Ikka Norberg at Åkestam Holst contacted us with a challenge. At this time of year seasonal wild strawberries were nowhere to be found for their planned photo and film production. The solution for us was to create a 3D model of a wild strawberry plant. We worked on the final retouching for the Ramlösa campaign and the still image was also used for the TV commercial.

Press Stop – Sweet Creatives

Presstop launch at Arlanda

Daniel Rösth and Fredrik Harkén of Sweet Creatives had the idea of highlighting Presstop’s wide range of magazines by presenting them in illustrative shapes. The difficulty in finding magazines large enough to be bent and shaped convinced us to use CGI and 3D models instead. Once we were able to adjust the contents of the pages in whichever way we wanted, we were then free to be able to shape and light them as we wished. The resulting images were published in newspapers and on large posters throughout the country.

Milkbar – Kärnhuset

Splash away

Art director Jakob Westman briefed us on his idea to shoot a series of images for Arla milk dispensers currently being used in restaurants and schools. The trickiest of the shots was originally sketched in 3D but the final splash was performed in front of the camera. By retouching together a few exposures the perfect splash was created.

Nordea

Medals in Vancouver

Magnus Lie and Sebastian Khalighy, the creative team at Nordea, came to us with an idea which was nicely timed with the Winter Olympics. Nordeas winning fund on the stock exchange, the Olympia Fond, required some extra exposure during the games. It was a freezing winter in Stockholm, but it still didn’t quite provide that perfect Alpine feel. Some creative montaging and retouching soon solved that. Finally, some extra love was put on the 3D podium, to slightly enhance our gold medalist. The image was later animated, and was seen in print and on the web throughout the games.

Wayne’s Coffee – WorkShop

Fantastico

Hot pasta dishes were having their première at Wayne’s Coffee and new images were required. Drifa Yngvadottir of Workshop came to us with a sketch of ‘twirling pasta’ that she wanted illustrated in a photographic kind of way. Getting the shape of the pasta just right was the biggest challenge in this project, and we solved it by modeling the spaghetti in 3D.

BO:X – John Doe Worldwide

Decorate with Simon & Thomas

‘Decorate with Simon & Thomas’ was the invitate campaign for an inspirational day at Bo:x, an interior design centre. The idea was to create an interior still life with Simon & Thomas portrayed as porcelain figurines at the centre. Sculpting in porcelain was not really an option and so 3D/CGI became the solution. The two celebrities were created in Zbrush and the environment was shot in our studio, together with art director Jörgen Berglund. With all the details finalized and with the photorealistic models in place, we carefully put everything together as one final image. A second campaign was also made, with our porcelain models on the scene once again, this time in a newly photographed environment. Both images were widely published in national newspapers and were used extensively on the web.

Fagerhult Outdoor – Kompago

Let there be light

Communication agency Kompago was selected by lighting specialists Fagerhult to create a campaign for the launch of their new outdoor range, Fagerhult Outdoor. The team, consisting of Joakim Blomquist, Pär Löfstedt and Fredrik Polback, wanted to emphasize the importance of good outdoor lighting by illustrating the same location with and without illumination. The project resulted in an ad campaign as well as a product catalogue.
