Ultrasilencer – Clean Your Mind by Electrolux

Electrolux – Prime PR

How do you explain what silence is? How do you capture silence visually? Together with Prime and Electrolux we’ve been working on how to portray the fact that their new generation of vacuum cleaners are extremely silent.
Firstly, we wanted to find the most illustrative way to instantly explain that the vacuum cleaner is silent. To achieve this we used the classic and iconic mute symbol in one image and in another image the vacuum cleaner is soundproofed with pillows – an image that will immediately create interest from viewers and editors.

Secondly, we also worked on finding images to support a new concept ‘Clean Your Mind’ – developed to emphasize the very value of silence. In our daily lives, neither the sound nor the act of vacuum cleaning is usually associated with a moment of peace, quiet often it is the opposite. It takes on average 15 minutes to vacuum. What if you could also use that time for your own well-being? Clean Your Mind is the world’s first meditation program developed for vacuum cleaning. The program is based on informal meditation and was created to fill the duration of an average vacuum cleaning session. It has been developed by Electrolux in collaboration with Gunilla Lönnberg, an experienced Swedish meditation instructor. Carrying out meditation while performing everyday chores such as vacuum cleaning is called ‘informal meditation’ – an opportunity to clean not just your home, but also your mind.
The program is produced especially for the act of vacuum cleaning and contains instructions for informal meditation, together with background audio designed to harmonize with the specific low sound characteristic of the UltraSilencer vacuum cleaner. The background music in the program is produced solely using sounds from the vacuum cleaner. The meditation program comes as a whole collection of tracks, easily adaptable to fit the size of one’s home and the number of rooms. It is available on Spotify, iTunes or SoundCloud.

Why shoot in a Cape Town studio?

Electrolux – DDB / Made to Order

Stella Ulltin at DDB / Made to Order asked the question. Hilarious. All the reasons can be found right here. And so we went. (It was a pretty good deal since the South African Rand has never been cheaper). Great food. Fantastic wine. And of course, plenty of sunshine.

Motion Graphic Designer?

“Most things still remain to be done. A glorious future!”

It seems only natural to cite Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA, considering the IKEA film but it also highlights the fact that we are investing in the future. This is why we are now looking to strengthen our creative talent with a skilled and experienced Motion Graphic Designer with a passion for innovative motion solutions.

As a Motion Graphic Designer you will be an important person in our investment in animation. You will have a leading role in our technical and creative development. You will primarily be an animator, but your skills in modelling, lighting and rendering will also be needed as you will often lead smaller productions yourself (naturally with the help from our various creatives). We therefore believe that you have approximately four years experience of 3D production when joining us.

Bsmart’s business concept is simple: We take full responsibility for the production of both still images and various types of motion media. From styling and photography, to 3D/CGI, retouching, modelling and animation. In short, everything to do with with great images. We are 20 people with studios in Stockholm and branches in Gothenburg and Cape Town.

You can download a full job description in english or swedish.

If you have any questions, or if you have already decided to send us your application to join us on our exciting journey into the future, then please contact work@bsmart.se

Electrolux – Kelly and Pling

Mixing business with pleasure

This was the first time working with our new client, Kelly and Pling. Under the art direction of Måns Hermansson we set out to produce these images for an in-store campaign showing the Electrolux range of rod mixers and the marvels they can accomplish. This is minimalistic food photography at its best.

Kelly and Pling even wanted moving images to complete the stills on this project. This gave us the opportunity to work closely together with our friends at Snask Film. Using the same look and feel as the stills, Snask produced this beautiful, modern and stylish ad:

Electrolux – Prime PR

Two eggs and an Andy

We are extremely overjoyed at the success of Electrolux and Prime. They just don’t stop winning awards for the ‘Vac from the sea’ campaign. Last night they were awarded a gold and silver egg at the annual Swedish advertising awards as well as a prestigious Andy award from New York. It feels even better just knowing that the campaign is for a good cause.
Read more about the campaign here.

A big thank you to Prime for choosing Bsmart as your creative partner!

Easy Cleaning

Barbara Wozna from Electrolux wanted to create the perfect environment for the modern, active woman. With help from stylist Catrin Spegel we searched and then found a great location on Lidingö (a very nice part of Stockholm to say the least). We then spent the week doing that wonderful household chore… you got it… cleaning. Being surrounded by vacuums you would think this would be easy but do not be fooled – the vacuums were just prototypes and were for show only. Back in the studio the images were retouched with the correct logos, leads and colours and the final ‘clean’ look was achieved.
