In our daily lives, neither the sound nor the act of vacuum cleaning is usually associated with a moment of peace, quiet often it is the opposite. It takes on average 15 minutes to vacuum. What if you could also use that time for your own well-being? Clean Your Mind is the world’s first meditation program developed for vacuum cleaning. The program is based on informal meditation and was created to fill the duration of an average vacuum cleaning session. It has been developed by Electrolux in collaboration with Gunilla Lönnberg, an experienced Swedish meditation instructor. Carrying out meditation while performing everyday chores such as vacuum cleaning is called ‘informal meditation’ – an opportunity to clean not just your home, but also your mind.
The program is produced especially for the act of vacuum cleaning and contains instructions for informal meditation, together with background audio designed to harmonize with the specific low sound characteristic of the UltraSilencer vacuum cleaner. The background music in the program is produced solely using sounds from the vacuum cleaner. The meditation program comes as a whole collection of tracks, easily adaptable to fit the size of one’s home and the number of rooms. It is available on Spotify, iTunes or SoundCloud.
